Mr. Vanasse has prepared hundreds of public and private sector cases on Transportation Planning, Traffic Engineering, Incident Analysis, Land Development Infrastructure Requirements, Roadway Design, Construction Accidents and Certification throughout the Eastern U.S. and Florida.

Mr. Vanasse enjoyed a 50-year career in New England, the Northeast, and Florida as a Consulting Traffic, Highway and Safety Engineer. Within that practice of Engineering, Mr. Vanasse came to be a known, competent, and respected engineer whose opinion was sought in many legacy vehicle–vehicle incident matters. With that work as part of his overall practice, he has testified in actual court proceedings in seven states, was registered as a PE and recognized in 13 states and testified as an expert over 200 times. In total, he has been involved in several hundred accidents matters in his 50-year consulting engineering career, and more recently in numerous cases at rdv PE INC.

Mr. Vanasse has now dedicated his practice to Expert Work only involving Opinions, Reports, and Court Testimony in legacy roadway and lot accidents, as well as the more recent types of matters in which litigation is involved and entails investigative work with:

  • Impaired Driver Incidents
  • Exceedent Driver Matters, and
  • Distracted Vehicle Operation

For:

  • Premises Liability Matters
  • Construction Zone/Work Area Incidents
  • Elderly Driving Incidents
  • Parking Lot/Sidewalk Protection

 

Mr. Vanasse limits his caseload to 6-8 matters at a time to ensure complete and exhaustive analysis and technical evaluation in each case.
In the last 4 years of practice, Mr. Vanasse has handled over 40 matters with the cases equally divided equally between Plaintiff and Defendant Clients including major end users, national retail/commercial chains, insurance carriers and private individuals.

Mr. Vanasse is not an Accident Reconstructionist but serves jointly on many teams with them. Mr. Vanasse presents a unique view point of the post-crash landscape with respect to the governing engineering tenets, analyzes the evidence with respect to current and prior Standards of Care and controlling regulations, State and Federal Laws, develops the critical Independent Causal Variables (ICV) and aids the team with Responsibility Assignment (RA) all from an exacting engineering and technical standpoint.

Mr. Vanasse is licensed as a Registered Professional Engineer by the NCEE Examinations, since 1974 and has been accepted and practiced as an expert in all of the registered states, and qualified as an Expert in seven of the states.

Mr. Vanasse received his BSCE from the University of Massachusetts, Amherst, MA in 1968 and completed the MSCE class/course work requirements at Northeastern University from 1975 to 1978.

Mr. Vanasse has received several awards and recognition from the University of Massachusetts, Amherst including

  • Outstanding Alumnus (1988) (College of Engineering)
  • Inaugural Class Academy of Outstanding Alumni (2016) (College of Engineering)

He has also served as a visiting lecturer to the Massachusetts Bar Association.
